The rough cut of the opening for Crann Bethadh. I still would like to tweak a few things and the music will probably be replaced, but it's heading in the direction that I want it to.

Work, work, work...

Some pose and anatomy studies for Death. Wrapping my head around the anatomy is difficult, but I think I'm starting to get it.

Pose studies for Life. It really amazes me how just drawing a few more poses really helps you understand how the character works in space and within the style. I know it seems obvious, but it was a great learning experience.

The aerial view of the village and fields. This is really just to help me visualize how the environment works to make the layouts easier. There is a pillar in the center of the village that has stone carvings illustrating the relationship between Life, Death, the village, and the Mother Tree. It stands directly East of the Mother Tree so when the sun rises, its shadow points to the Mother Tree and when the sun sets, the Mother Tree's shadow looms over the village, representing the fact that in this village, all life begins and ends with the Mother Tree.
This was just for fun, but it's Eithne as an adult. I think after this project is over, I may begin a web comic about her growing up and becoming the protector of the reborn Life.
